Graphical git clients for Windows

Cause enough people are still pretty comfy with Windows, and I am not that much of a windoze hater or linux fanboy folks believe I am .. so w/o further ado, tada: A short selection of not only good-looking, but also properly working windows GUI git clients:

  • CollabNet GitEye - also available for Linux and Mac OS X
  • Git Extensions - describes itself "Git Extensions is the only graphical user interface for Git that allows you control Git without using the commandline", but missing the point, ie. missing to add the BIG fact: "(...) for windows"; aside of this over-exaggeration, it integrates tightly with Visual Studio, so .. much fun for VS users ;)
  • SmartGit/Hg - very promising looking solution for the major bunch of versioning systems; includes exclusive Github support; runs on all major platforms, including Windows & Linux
  • Git for Windows / msysgit - more or less official Git client for Windows, including the base commandline tools, but also a pretty nifty looking GUI client. It's also what the official Github desktop client for Windows is based upon
